It was your idea. It was your vision. It didn’t happen overnight. It was your hard
work and money that launched it. Do you just “trust” that your agent understands that? There are many complexities when insuring a business and only you have the answers to the many questions that help determine what is needed. If you don’t have a relationship with your agent, it is likely that your coverage isn’t complete.

Yes, it takes a little time to insure your business well. But after all you have done to get it to where it is, do you really want to gamble with it? No two businesses are the same so why would you accept the same coverage that everyone else has? It doesn’t have to be a painful process, but it does require your input and unfortunately some time in filling out applications to capture the essence of what you do, and to translate that into the language of insurance.

I am in several professional designation programs (done by the National Alliance and the  American college) to make sure the level of knowledge that is needed to know what questions to ask are my baseline. Agent knowledge is what you are buying when choosing between independent agents. Being up to date is not a choice for me. It’s a self-imposed business practice.
